Romanian farmers can’t compete with foreign investors in accessing financing, said Jan Glas, managing partner of audit company TPA Horwath.

The cost of banking products is not the main issue for farmers, but rather how accessible loans are and how one can find financing, he added.

“I haven’t really met farmers who said that they can take loans, but these are too expensive, but investors who complain that their projects are not approved and that they don’t have financing,” Glas further said, cited by local Wall-street.ro.

This it is the main difference between a foreign investor’s capacity in agriculture and the Romanian investor.
