Romanian environment projects receive EUR 15 mln

Fifteen environment projects received funds of over EUR 15 million via the 2009-2014 EEA Grants, where Norway is a main contributor.

Romanian Environment Minister Gratiela Gavrilescu signed on May 19 the 15 financing contracts together with the Ambassador of Norway Tove Bruvik Westberg.

Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein are part of the 2009-2014 EEA Financial Mechanism. Romania’s Environment Ministry carries out three programmes within the 2009-2014 EEA Grants, namely Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services, Reduction of Hazardous Substances and Adapting to Climate Change.
