Several cultural events, including two chamber concerts and a symphonic concert, will be included in the Enescu Month in London, a project dedicated to famous Romanian composer and violinist George Enescu.

The series of events starts on January 22 and end on February 7, and marks the commemoration of 60 years since Enescu’s death. The Enescu Month is organised by the Romanian Culture Institute (ICR) in London.

The Enescu Month in London will feature the chamber ensemble of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, violinist and professor Remus Azoitei, the spectacular violin duo Gabriel Croitoru – Liviu Prunaru, accompanied by pianist Horia Mihail, and historians, music critics and promoters like Sir Noel Malcolm, James Jolly, Oltea Serban-Parau, Cristina Andrei and Oana Marinescu, according to ICR London.

The project will also try to promote Romania as a destination for cultural tourism. The 22nd edition of the George Enescu International Festival, which will take place in Bucharest in September, is one of Romania’s most important cultural events.
