Romanian appliance producer makes 25 million refrigerators in 45 years
Romanian appliance producer Arctic passed the threshold of 25 million refrigerators produced in its local factory in Gaesti in its 45 years of activity.
The company’s plant in Gaesti is the second largest refrigerator factory in Europe, with a production capacity of 2.6 million units per year. Over 85% of the production goes to export, in over 60 countries. This makes Arctic one of Romania's biggest exporters.
Arctic had 3,000 employees and a turnover of EUR 300 million in 2014. It has a market share of 35% on the local market and it is part of the Turkish group Arcelik. Arcelik has invested over EUR 110 million at Arctic, in new technology and new production lines, according to the group's representatives.
