Romania offers some of the highest salary increases in Europe
Romanian employees will get some of the highest wage increases in Europe this year, but the rising inflation will negatively impact the wage growth in 2018, according to the Salary Budget Planning Report by Willis Towers Watson.
Romania will record an average salary growth of 4.5% this year. However, the real growth will only amount to 3.3% if one considers the inflation rate.
The adjusted rate remains one of the highest in Europe and more than triple compared to the EU average of 1%.
In 2018, inflation will have a higher impact on the real wage growth in Romania. In real terms, this will amount to 1.6%, according to the report. Even so, Romania will be above the EU average of 0.9%.
May average net salary, up 14.5% y-o-y in Romania
