The Treasures of Romania exhibition officially opened on Thursday, January 28, at the National Museum of China in Beijing.

The exhibition is the first such event of this scale hosted by China in the last 66 years, according to a statement of the National Museum of Romanian History, one of the event’s organizers. It brings together representative pieces of prehistoric, classical, and medieval architecture, as well as medieval Romanian art.

More than 30 of the most important museums in Romania have contributed to this exhibition, managing to put to together a collection of 445 exceptional heritage items.

Within the exhibition, there are items that cover some 30 millennia of human development and civilization in the Romanian space – from the Upper Paleolithic until the late 18th century and the early 19th century. The visitors will be able to admire exceptional creations of great civilizations from the Neolithic, the Bronze Age and the Iron Age, Geto-Dacian and Roman, as well as items from the Romanian medieval and pre-modern culture.

The exhibition will stay open until May 8.
