German sports retailer Sport Depot will open its first showroom in Romania within the Global City Business Park office compound in Pipera, Northern Bucharest, at the ground floor of one of the office buildings in the compound. The retailer, which is part of German group Sport 2000 International, already runs an online store in Romania. An exact date for the opening has not been given.

The operator for Romania, according to the German retailer, is the same as for Greece, a company called Hellenic Flame. The company is responsible for developing the SPORT2OO0 retail concept in Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Albania and Cyprus. According to the retailer, SP0RT2000 international is the second largest general sport buying group worldwide, which supplies over 3,700 retail points and has total turnover exceeding EUR 5 billion a year.
