Record number of movies at NexT Film Festival in Romania

A total of 146 short movies will be screened at the 2015 NexT International Film Festival in Bucharest, a record number in the event’s history. 36 of them will compete in the festival’s two sections, national and international.

Over 20 movies from 17 countries, including Spain, France, Portugal, Belgium, Israel and Canada, will compete for the NexT trophies in the international competition.

This section’s jury is formed of Polis Ewa Puszczynska (who produced Oscar-winning film Ida), Edvinas Puksta from Estonia, Michał Oleszczyk from Poland, Romanian director Ana Lungu, French writer and film critic François Bonenfant, Romanian Maria Balabaș, and director Eduardo Williams.

12 short movies will compete for Best Romanian Film and Audience Award for Romanian Film.

The event will take place between April 15 and April 19 at Studio Cinema, Elvire Popesco Cinema, CinemaPRO, the Romanian Cultural Institute, Control Club, J’ai Bistrot, ArCuB, Carturesti and Garajul Ciclop. Find tickets online here.

Control Club will also host the Warm Up NexT event on April 1, 20:00, which will bring a selection of movies to the public. The entrance at this event is free.
