Oscar-nominated animation opens Romania’s Kinodiseea film festival for children

Song of the Sea, Irish filmmaker Tomm Moore’s newest animation, will open this year’s edition of Kinodiseea International Children Film Festival. The film was nominated for the Best Animated Feature award at the 2015 Academy Awards.

The opening event will take place at Cinema Studio in Bucharest, on November 13.

The 2015 edition of Kinodiseea comes with more than 100 national premiers, 29 feature films and animations, and 80 short films. The festival is split in seven sections, namely International Competition, Retrospective, Panorama – films outside the competition, Teenagers in Focus – films dedicated to teenagers, and four sections dedicated to short films for children aged 3-6, 6-9, 9-12, and 12-14.

The event’s program also includes Q&A sessions with filmmakers and actors, seminars, and workshops.

Kinodiseea will take place at Cinema Studio, Cinema Pro, Cinema Eforie, Cinema Union, and Cinema Elvira Popescu in Bucharest. The event will end on November 18. Find more information here.
