Republic of Moldova's President Nicolae Timofti has signed a presidential decree on decorating Romanian Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos with the Order of the Republic, which is Moldova’s highest order.

“Mr. President signed such an order for Mr. Ciolos’ special merits at bilateral and international levels,” Ion Paduraru, Secretary General of the Presidency, told Deschide.md, reports local News.ro.

The order will be awarded by the Moldovan Embassy in Bucharest.

The President of Moldova awards the Order of the Republic for exceptional merits in all fields, which benefit Moldova and humanity as a whole. The order was established in 1992.

Romanian President Klaus Iohannis also received this order from the Moldovan President.
