Mega Image buys land in village near Bucharest for new distribution center

29 December 2014

Belgian retailer Mega Image has purchased a piece of land in Stefanesti village near Bucharest, where it will build a new distribution center, according to sources in the real estate market cited by local Mediafax.

This would be the retailer’s third deposit, after the one in Popesti Leordeni and the one built in Bucharest for the collaboration with online retailer eMAG.

Frans Muller, general director of Delhaize, announced in March this year that the retailer will continue expansion in Bucharest, where it will also build a new distribution center.

Xavier Piesvaux, general manager of Mega Image Romania, also said that the new center should become operational in 2016, reports Mediafax.

Mega Image recently exceeded 400 units in Romania after nine new openings.
