The occupancy rate of the retail center Galleria in the western Romanian city of Arad will go down by 50% starting June, according to market sources quoted by Mediafax.

French-Belgian retailer Cora will close on June 1 the hypermarket it operates within Galleria Arad. It is the first Cora hypermarket which closes down in Romania. Cora is the largest tenant of the Galleria Arad, covering a 9,000 sqm area.

“We are in various discussions with other hypermarket operators, as well as with other significant retailers; a possible departure of Cora is not equivalent with ceasing Galleria Arad’s activity,” said Danny Bercovich, CEO GTC Romania, the owner of Galleria Arad, according to Mediafax newswire.
