Low cost airline Wizz Air announces new route from Romania's Cluj Napoca to Tel Aviv

Low cost airline Wizz Air has recently announced a new route from Cluj Napoca, Central Romania to Tel Aviv, Israel. Flights to Tel Aviv, which is the fifth most visited city in the the Middle East and Africa region, with more than 2.5 million visitors annually, will begin in late-November this year and will be operated twice a week.

Tickets for this route can be purchased on wizzair.com for prices starting at EUR 40.

“The flights to Tel Aviv are a first for the Cluj Napoca International Airport, following our strategy to develop the network. This destination offers the possibility of trips for tourism, but will also strengthen the business connections between Transylvania and Israel,” said David Ciceo, General Manager of the Cluj Napoca International Airport.

Wizz Air is the largest low cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe and operates a fleet of 45 Airbus A320 aircraft from 17 bases with 280 routes linking 95 destinations in 35 countries. Wizz Air has 1,600 employees and had some 13.5 million passengers in the first quarter of 2013.
