Representatives of the US defense group Lockheed Martin met yesterday in Bucharest with the Romanian defense minister Adrian Tutuianu and heads of the military structures involved in the process of military equipment acquisition.

Lockheed Martin specializes in the research, development, production and integration of advanced military technologies.The US group representatives presented the opportunities for industrial cooperation whereas the Romanian officials detailed the eight essential programs of endowment for the Romanian Armed Forces.

Such meetings will continue in the next period, according to the Defense Ministry.

On August 1, Romania’s Supreme Defense Council (CSAT) approved the plan to equip the national army between 2017 and 2026. The eight procurement plans will have multi-annual funds of EUR 9.8 billion.
