Life insurer NN Asigurari de Viata, the former ING Asigurari de Viata, underwrote in the first quarter of 2015 gross premiums worth EUR 34.8 million in Romania, up 5% year-on-year. Its gross profit stayed at EUR 2.2 million.

Unit-linked insurance plans accounted for 37% of the company’s revenues in the first three months of the year. These are a combination of insurance and investment. Compared to the first three months of 2014, they increased by 4%.

The number of contracts bought back and canceled went down by 13%. The company has also spent EUR 2.2 million for rebranding.

The insurer managed at the end of March financial assets worth EUR 651 million, up 6.6% over the first quarter in 2014.
