A new group of 44 Peace Corps volunteers will start their two-year mission in Romania this summer, the US Embassy to Romania has announced. The volunteers will be sworn in on Friday, August 6, at the US Embassy in Bucharest.

The company hopes to achieve an overall increase of 30 percent for the entire year, reaching EUR 18 million in turnover.

The unemployment level in Romania should stay at a stable rate towards the end of the year, said Romanian Labor Minister Mihai Seitan. “I don't expect an increase to a level higher than what it was in December lats year – 8.3 or 8.1. I can't give specific numbers, but anyway, it won't be higher than the level at the end of last year,” said Seitan.

Car dealer Romcar, part of Tiriac Holdings, which has previously sold Ford cars in Romania, will become a car parts distribution company for the TiriacAuto dealers network, according to Ziarul Financiar, quoting Alexandru Ion Tiriac.

Pambac Bacau, which produces bread and bakery products, has seen its profit shrinking by 25 percent in the first half of the year, as Romanians started to buy cheaper products.

Real estate developer Atrium European Real Estate has appointed Jorg Banzhaf as chief investment officer. Banzhaf will be responsible for the management and co-ordination of Atrium’s planned investment program as the Company continues to seek out opportunities for growth.

The Romanian citizens of Rroma ethnicity which will be repatriated from France will be included in the society through common Romanian – French programs which will be funded with European money. The two countries will together obtain the funds needed to create these programs.
