The success of local sports people and film makers abroad seems to be Romania's main international counterbalances for the bad news coming from the country. The Wall Street Journal has recently published an article about a Romanian playing in the US National Football League, Zoltan Mesko. Mesko, 24, who has studied in the US, is now playing for the New England Patriots.

State-owned company Nuclearelectrica, which administrates the two nuclear reactors in Cernavoda, posted a loss of around EUR 46 million in the first six months of the year. The company turned to loss after making a gross profit of around EUR 25.6 million in the first six months of last year.

Cesaria Evora, who went through heart surgery in May this year, when she canceled the concert in Bucharest, will continue her tour and perform in Romania in October. Her first concert will be held in Brasov on October 15 and in Bucharest on October 18. The concert in Brasov will be held at Sala Sporturilor, while the one in Bucharest, at Sala Palatului.
