19 November 2012

Fast food operator KFC has opened its first drive thru restaurant in Bucharest, following an investment of EUR 700,000. The operator hopes the new restaurant will bring a turnover of EUR 1.2 million in the first year of activity.

It is not the first drive thru restaurant KFC has opened in Romania – it runs similar units in Arad, Sibiu and Iasi. The Bucharest unit is located on Mihai Bravu Boulevard.

KFC runs 18 restaurants in Bucharest. One of the most recent openings was at Cora Lujerului in the Militari area, with an investment of EUR 240,000, which will most likely bring a turnover of EUR 700,000 a year. This unit covers some 138 sqm, while the recently opened drive thru, some 410 sqm.

The KFC franchise in Romania is operated by US Food Network SA, which owns around 40 restaurants.
