Kaufland pays EUR 2 mln for plot in Bucharest

08 June 2015

Turkish investor Ahmet Buyukhanli, the owner of Opus Land Development, has signed an agreement for the sale of a plot in northern Bucharest to German retailer Kaufland. The price tag is of over EUR 2 million, reports local Capital.ro.

The Turkish investor bought the 2,300-sqm plot a year earlier with some EUR 2 million from two local businessmen. He was planning to develop a 100-apartment building, with a EUR 10 million investment.

“We signed a conditional sale agreement, which is a step preceding the actual sale,” said Ahmet Buyukhanli.

The plot is located in front of a Kaufland parking lot. The retailer will most likely use the land to expand its parking lot.
