Judoka Andreea Chitu wins gold for Romania at Baku 2015 European Games

Romanian judoka Andreea Chitu won gold for Romania on Thursday, June 25, at the 2015 European Games organized in Baku. She beat Annabelle Euranie of France in the -52kg class.

The Romanian athlete qualified in the final match of the -52kg category after defeating Germany’s Mareen Kraeh in the semifinals.

Andreea Chitu was European champion in 2012, and then won silver in 2013 and bronze in 2014. She also has silver and bronze medals from the 2014 and 2011 World Championships.

Earlier this week, Romanian athlete Ana Maria Branza won the first gold medal for Romania at the 2015 European Games in Baku.
