Johann Strauss festival features three concerts and a conference this week

A waltz concert will take place on Tuesday evening (August 24) at the Cotroceni National Museum, as part of the ongoing Johann Strauss festival. The concert will be held by the Artmusik Quartet and will be conducted by Iosif Ion Prunner. Compositions by Iosif Ivanovici, Gioachino Rossini, Johann Strauss, Johannes Brahms, Frederic Chopin, Josef Strauss will be included.

The Johann Strauss international festival takes place between August 22 and August 29 in Bucharest. It started on Sunday with a concert at the Romanian Atheneum, with soprano Patricia Seymour. It will continue with a conference on Thursday on the topic: 'Nothing heroic. The sad ending of Johan Strauss' concerts in Bucharest', which will be held at the Cotroceni National Museum by Thomas Aigner, the head of the music collection withing the Vienna City Hall Library.

The festival will end with a pipe organ concert on Sunday, August 29, at the St. Iosif cathedral. The concert will be held by Csaba Király, with the participation of soprano Patricia Seymour.
