Japanese car parts producer Yazaki, which has 5,000 employees in its Romania factories, could create more than 1,200 jobs in Braila, eastern Romania, where it plans to build a car wiring factory, according to Ziarul Financiar.

Yazaki's name appears on a list of companies that have applied for state aid under a new scheme approved by the Government in this autumn. The Japanese manufacturer has asked for EUR 4.8 million state aid to create 1,215 jobs.

The largest employer in Braila is currently the Emergency County Hospital, followed by the Norwegian ship builder Vard, with an average of nearly 1,900 employees in 2013. Yazaki could become the third largest employer in the county.
