There are only 52 green cars registered in Romania, 35 of which sold in 2014.

From the total 35 units sold last year, 26 were hybrid cars, and 9 were electric vehicles, according to data from the Directorate for Driving Licenses and Vehicle Registration DRPCIV, cited by the Automotive Manufacturers and Importers Association (APIA).

Romania was among the last in the European ranking in terms of green vehicle registrations, in 2014. Norway ranked first with 19,767 electric and hybrid Plug-In cars sold in 2014, followed by UK with 15,361 and Germany with 13,118, according to statistics from the European Automobile Manufacturers Association ACEA.

A total of 17 green cars were sold in Romania this year, according to APIA’s statistics for January 2015.
