Romania's Electrica approves EUR 150 mln investments this year and new strategy

The Board of Directors of the Romanian energy supply and distribution company Electrica Group (BVB: EL), with the Romanian state as the largest owner, approved a RON 750 mln (EUR 150 mln) investment plan for this year and the revised version of the 2019-2023 strategy.

The revised version of the strategy "focuses on the agile and digital transformation of the business, as well as on business development in complementary areas."

Electrica Group is a key player in the Romanian electricity distribution and supply market, as well as one of the most important players in the energy services sector.

It provides services to about 3.8 million users and has a national coverage area - with a coverage of 18 (of 41) counties.

In 2021, Electrica Furnizare, the group's supply branch, was the market leader, with a share of 18.4%.

In the competitive market segment, it had a share of 12.6%, according to the data from the ANRE report for November 2021.
