Germany's p3 communications certifies Vodafone Romania's best web browsing reliability

German auditor p3 communications certified Vodafone Romania's network as having “best live web page accessibility” and “best web browsing reliability”, on smartphones, of all Romanian GSM/UMTS networks. From the measured indicators, Vodafone Romania network showed the highest data transfer speed, for both smartphones and mobile broadband modems.

The performance benchmark measurement campaign was carried out by p3 communications, between November 6, 2012, and December 15, 2012, in 19 cities, under mobile and stationary conditions.

All networks under test, except CDMA networks, were tested with identical user equipments, and the tests have been executed as an outdoor nomadic drive test, alternating in drive mode and stationary at points of interest in the respective city centers, according to Vodafone.

This is the 3rd certification provided to Vodafone Romania by p3 communications following network performance measurements.

Vodafone Romania had service revenues of GBP 143 million (some EUR 177 million) in the quarter ended on December 31, 2012, according to the company. In the same period of 2011, Vodafone Romania’s service revenues were GBP 167 million.

Between July and September last year, the telecom operator’s service revenues in Romania were GBP 146 million.

Vodafone Romania increased its number of customers by some 248,000 in the last three months of 2012, to a total of 8.12 million, of which almost 60 percent were prepaid customers. On October 1, 2012, the telecom operator had 7.8 million customers in Romania.
