German company wins EUR 11 mln Romanian water rehabilitation work contract in court

13 September 2012

German company Passavant-Roediger GmbH recently won a court action over bidding results for rehabilitation work on the water purification station in Romanian town, Roman. As a result, the German firm, which specializes in waste and wastewater treatment and re-use and was represented by Romanian law firm Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii, has won the EUR 11 million contract to modernize and expand the wastewater systems in Roman town.

The favorable solution cancels the Romanian National Arbitration Council's decision that had previously denied the contractor’s request. The following step should be the signing of the contract between Apa Serv S.A. Neamt and the German firm.

Passavant-Roediger GmbH is a German- Based subsidiary of Drake & Scull International. It works on projects for municipal wastewater treatment, sludge digestion and vacuum drainage systems. The company offers technical studies, planned maintenance, process refurbishment and overhaul as well as initial feasibility studies. In Romania, it has already worked with the municipalities in Braila, Botosani and Reghin.

In Romania, Passavant-Roediger has 42 employees and a net profit in 2010 of approximately EUR 32,000 , while the firm’s revenues totaled almost EUR 0.5 million, according to Trade Registry data.
