GE Energy appoints Cristiano Tortelli as regional chief

GE Energy has named Italian Cristiano Tortelli as President and CEO for Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and CIS ( states formerly in the Soviet Union ). According to GE Energy, from his Moscow base he will be responsible for growth and expansion in the area and replaces former president Rod Christie.

Tortelli joined GE Oil and Gas ten years ago and since then has held various positions including West Africa Operations general manager, Middle East region manager, Qatar operations leader, based in Doha and most recently global sales general manager for GE Oil & Gas' Turbomachinery business. Before joining GE Tortelli for Carlo Gavazzi Impianti, a construction company mainly operating in the Middle East and ENI AGIP as a system engineer in Nigeria.
