Garanti Romania, which brings together Garanti Bank, Garanti Leasing and Garanti Credite de Consum, recorded a net profit of RON 96 million (EUR 21 million) in the first half of the year.

The group’s total assets rose to RON 10.51 billion (EUR 2.3 billion) during this period. Garanti Bank saw a net profit of RON 78.1 million (EUR 17.1 million) at the end of June.

The bank’s volume of loans rose by 7.1% year-on-year reaching RON 6.96 billion (EUR 1.5 billion) whereas deposits increased by 18.5% to RON 6.84 billion (EUR 1.5 billion).

The bank's card portfolio increased by 10% in the first half of the year to almost 300,000 issued cards. Its national POS network increased by 15% in the first six months of the year, exceeding 12,000 units.

Garanti Credite de Consum recorded a net profit of EUR 2.3 million during this period whereas Garanti Leasing saw a net profit of EUR 1.6 million.
