Frenchman Jean Francois Fallacher will remain CEO of Orange Romania, the country’s biggest mobile carrier, until July 1, 2017, after the company’s Board of Directors unanimously voted for this earlier this year. Fallacher took over as Orange Romania CEO in July, 2011, replacing Thierry Millet, who returned to France.

Chief Financial Officer Diego Martinez Lopez and commercial director Julien Ducarroz also had their mandates extended until May 2017.

Orange Romania recorded total revenues of EUR 454 million in the first six months of this year, up 6.4% year-on-year. During this period, the number of customers dropped by 179,000, to some 10.2 million.

The revenue increase was mainly supported by mobile internet services. The mobile data traffic in Orange’s network increased by 112% in the second quarter of 2015 compared to the same quarter of last year, as tablet and smartphone sales also went up.
