Four people were injured on Monday morning (December 3 ) after an explosion in one of the boilers at CET South, which provides heating for Bucharest. They were rushed to the burns unit of Floreasca Hospital in Bucharest.

Cristian Pandrea, doctor at the Emergency Unit of the Hospital Floreasca, said that three of the victims have burns to the legs and arms, while the fourth is the worst injured, with burns to the face as well.

A team of inspectors from the Labor Inspectorate (ITM) Bucharest was sent to the scene to investigate the cause of the accident.

The spokesman for the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) Bucharest, Daniel Vasile, said there was an explosion at CET South followed by a fire, which was extinguished by crews from CET South's emergency unit before the firefighters arrived. He also said that the area was secure and there is no risk of further explosions.
