Romanian-Indian duo win their second tennis title of the year

Romanian-Indian duo Florin Mergea/Rohan Bopanna won their second doubles tennis tournament this year in Stuttgart. They beat Austrian-Brazilian pair Alexander Peya/Bruno Soares in the final after three hard-fought sets ended 5-7, 6-2, 10-7.

The Romanian-Indian team won 250 points in the ATP ranking and EUR 31,770 in prize money for their victory in Stuttgart. This helped Mergea move up to number 15 in the ATP doubles ranking.

Florin Mergea and Rohan Bopanna started playing together in April 2015. They also won the Madrid Open masters tournament in May.

Florin Mergea, 30, has won five ATP doubles titles in his career. His best performances in Grand Slam tournaments were reaching the semifinals of the French Open, in 2014, and the quarter-finals of the Australian Open, in 2015.

Romanian-Indian duo Florin Mergea/Rohan Bopanna won their second doubles tennis tournament this year in Stuttgart. They beat Austrian-Brazilian pair Alexander Peya/Bruno Soares in the final after three hard-fought sets ended 5-7, 6-2, 10-7.

The Romanian-Indian team won 250 points in the ATP ranking and EUR 31,770 in prize money for their victory in Stuttgart. This helped Mergea move up to number 15 in the ATP doubles ranking.

Florin Mergea and Rohan Bopanna started playing together in April 2015. They also won the Madrid Open masters tournament in May.
