EY: Renewable energy sector slows down in Romania

Romania dropped one place, to 32nd, out of 40 countries, in a quarterly ranking of the most attractive countries for investments in the renewable energy sector made by EY.

The report points out that the activity in the renewable energy sector on the local market has slowed down in the last three months, but that there are still large investments and transactions.

Russian group Lukoil and Italian company ERG Renew signed a financing contract for the Topolog-Dorobantu wind park, a EUR 123.8 million project, while German group STEAG got a loan for its Crucea Nord wind park, which has a value of EUR 200 million. In the Easter European region, only Turkey and Poland are better ranked than Romania.
