The Budget and Finance Commission in Romania’s Chamber of Deputies decided on May 19 to change the tax receipt lottery rules.

The state will award maximum 100 prizes for each draw. The Finance Minister had suggested that the prizes should be bigger.

If people submit more than 100 winning receipts, 100 winners will be randomly selected out of these, reports local Mediafax.

The Romanian Finance Ministry launched a fiscal lottery to encourage consumers to ask for fiscal receipts and keep them. The first draw was on April 13, and more than 18,000 people announced they had winning receipts.
