Days left until subscriptions for Romania’s George Enescu Festival go on sale

Classical music aficionados have to wait a little more than a week before buying subscriptions for this year’s George Enescu festival in Romania.

Taking place between August 30 and September 20 in Bucharest, Cluj, Iasi, Brasov and Ploiesti, the festival will bring together big names of classical music, such as: American classical violinist Sarah Chang, Polish-Hungarian pianist Piotr Anderszewski, Turkish pianist and composer Fazil Say, American pianist Murray Perahia, German pianist Christian Zacharias, the Berliner Philarmonicker, the San Francisco Symphony - in premiere in Romania, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Sankt Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre de Chamber Paris, the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Konzerthaus Orchester Berlin, the Monte Carlo Philharmonic, the Wiener Philharmoniker, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the Mozarteumorchester from Salzburg, among others.

Subscriptions go on sale on January 15, at 10:00 AM Romania time. Both subscriptions and tickets will be sold via www.eventim.ro and on the festival’s website www.festivalenescu.ro. These usually sell out very fast.

Several types of subscriptions will be available:

-          the A subscription, with prices ranging from RON 2,200 – some EUR 500 – to RON 1,000- some EUR 220. This subscription will give access to all the concerts from great orchestras of the world, at the Palace Hall (Sala Palatului). The A1 & A2 subscriptions, priced RON 1,250 to RON 550 – will give access to 11 of these concerts.

-          The B subscription, with prices ranging from RON 2,000 and RON 1,600 (EUR 450 to EUR 360) for Camera Concerts and Recitals at the Romanian Athenaeum.

-          The C subscription, priced RON 900 and RON 700 (EUR 200 and EUR 157), for concerts in the By Midnight series at the Romanian Athenaeum.

-          The D subscription – prices: RON 200 & RON 170 (EUR 45 and EUR 38), for morning concerts at the Palace Hall (Sala Palatului) and the Romanian Athenaeum.

Individual tickets will go on sale on February 16, at 10:00 AM, Romania time.

For Big Orchestras concerts (Palace Hall): RON 160, RON 130, RON 100, RON 70 per show.

For Camera Recitals and Concerts (Romanian Athenaeum): RON 160 and RON 130 per show.

For the By Midnight series (Romanian Athenaeum): RON 160 and RON 130 per show.

For Morning Concerts (Palace Hall & Romanian Athenaeum): RON 50 & RON 40 per show.
