CNAIR, the Romanian public company that manages the national road infrastructure, submitted for validation to the public procurement agency ANAP the documents to organize the tender for the contract on elaborating the feasibility study for Transfagarasan road modernization.

The project covers part of the scenic road between km 104 (Piscu Negru) and 130+800 (Balea Lac Cascada).

This contract aims to identify technical solutions that allow circulation for as long as possible during the year, CNAIR Director General Cristian Pistol explained. Typically, the road is closed from October to June.

"This unique road in the world will become much more accessible and safer for all those who want to visit it," Pistol wrote on his Facebook page.
