The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) has decided to extend its transaction program by 30 minutes until 6:30 pm. The new schedule will start on May 21.

By extending its program, the local bourse thus aligns to other important European stock exchanges. BVB will thus operate daily from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm.

The Bucharest Stock Exchange recovered in April, as new money came into the market, and the banks’ shares surged.

The BET index, which is the main reference of the local market, increased by 6.7% (in local currency terms), the second-best performance in the region after the Budapest Stock Exchange index BUX, which rose 12.8%. The Polish market increase by 5% in April.
