Over half of the online transactions paid by credit card that were processed in the first half of the year were generated in Bucharest.

The online transactions by card made in Cluj-Napoca had a 5% share, followed by Timisoara, with a 4.9% share in the total online transactions, according to the online payment processor NETOPIA mobilPay, cited by local Mediafax. Iasi, Constanta, and Brasov came next, each with a 3% share.

Men initiated over 60% of the total number of transactions. Some 46% of the people who chose to pay online in the first half of the year were aged between 25 and 34, over 22% of them were between 35 and 45, whereas 17% of them were between 18 and 24. Only 4% of the persons over 55 shopped online, whereas only 2% of those over 65 made online transactions.
