Romanian central bank’s reserves up 1% in August
The foreign exchange reserves of Romania’s National Bank (BNR) amounted to EUR 34.95 billion at the end of August, up 0.92% over the previous month.
The inflows totaled EUR 1.57 billion in August whereas the outflows reached EUR 1.25 billion.
The gold reserve remained at 103.7 tons in August and was valued at EUR 3.66 billion. Thus, Romania’s international reserves (foreign currencies and gold) increased to EUR 38.62 billion on August 31, from EUR 38.23 billion at the end of July.
The Finance Ministry needs to repay EUR 1.38 billion worth of public debt in September.
