Romanian lender BCR, among largest companies in the Republic of Moldova

Romanian lender BCR is one of the 20 largest companies in the Republic of Moldova based on the share capital, according to a recent ranking.

The largest company is Moldovagaz, with a EUR 65.6 million capital, of which the Russian group Gazprom holds a 50% stake, reports local Economica.net. The Moldovan Government holds a 35.3% stake in the company.

Eximbank ranks second, with a share capital of EUR 61.6 million. The Italian bank Veneto Banca s.c.p.a owns the bank entirely.

The national Moldovan telecom operator Moldtelecom ranks third with a EUR 48.6 million capital. BCR Chisinau, which is entirely owned by BCR, ranks fourth, with EUR 36 million in capital.
