Answear Romania, the local subsidiary of Polish online fashion retailer Answear, recorded a 35% increase in sales in the first half of this year compared to the same period of 2019.

The turnover in the first six months thus passed the EUR 10 mln mark.

Although fashion sales declined at the beginning of the pandemic, the Romanian clients then started to change their shopping habits and order more online, due to the new context, according to the company's representatives.

"If there were approximately 3 million online shoppers in Romania at the end of 2019, we are now convinced that their number has increased significantly. What we also noticed was a slight increase in the average order and, especially, an increase in sales for medium-high brands in our portfolio such as Red Valentino, DKNY, Karl Lagerfeld, Lauren Ralph Lauren, Twinset, Patrizia Pepe, Armani Exchange, Emporio Armani," Raluca Radu, country manager Answear Romania, told Ziarul Financiar.
