The giant Airbus A300-600ST (Super Transporters), better known as Beluga because of its resemblance to the Arctic whale, is set to land in Romania for the first time on Wednesday, May 18, according to News.ro sources, reports local Stirileprotv.ro.

The Beluga, which is operated by Airbus Transport International, will arrive in Romania from Turkey and will then take off to Germany. The landing is scheduled to take place on Wednesday evening, around 19:30, at the Otopeni Airport. The aircraft will remain in Romania until Thursday morning.

The Beluga is a version of the standard A300-600 wide-body airliner modified to carry aircraft parts and oversized cargo. According to information on Airbus’ website, the aircraft carries complete sections of Airbus aircraft from different production sites around Europe to the final assembly lines in Toulouse and Hamburg.
