Romanian dairy maker Albalact upped its turnover by a quarter and almost doubled its profit during the first nine months of the year.

The company, which is the third largest dairy producer in Romania by turnover, posted sales of some EUR 68 million, a growth of 25 percent year-on-year. Its nine-month profit was of EUR 1.2 million. The growth can be partially attributed to the production capacity increase at the Raraul factory in 2012.

Albalact produces and sells dairy products under the brands Fulga, Zuzu, Fruzu, De Albalact and Raraul. The latter is produced via Raraul Campulung Moldovenesc, a company majority owned by Albalact.

The Romanian dairy maker is currency listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, symbol ALBZ, where its shares sell at RON 0.15 (closing price on Thursday, November 14 ), and where it has a market capitalization of around EUR 21.7 million.
