Alexandru Badulescu, head of Western Union in Romania and Bulgaria, was promoted the company's vice-president for Eastern Europe and CIS. He is replacing Jonathan Knaus, who becomes vice-president of Western Union Business Solutions.

From his new position, Alexandru Badulescu will coordinate Western Union’s operations in 22 countries in the area, and will be responsible for further increasing Western Union networks.

Alexandru Badulescu graduated Economic Science Academy in Bucharest, and he also holds an MBA degree from the London Business School. He joined Western Union in 2000, after working in the banking industry in Romania. He led the company's offices in Romania, Moldova and Bulgaria.
