Vodafone Foundation brings Vodafone Big Marathon to Romania this October

14 August 2015

Vodafone Foundation will organize for the first time in Romania the Vodafone Big Marathon on October 4. The event is part of Raiffeisen Bank Bucharest Marathon, which will take place on October 3 and October 4.

Over 100 Vodafone employees from around the world will run the marathon, and will also raise funds for two of Vodafone Romania Foundation’s causes. Each runner will have to raise a total of EUR 1,500, money that will later be donated to the foundation's two projects - ‘Controlin’ and ‘Home supervision of patients with cardiovascular problems'.

‘Controlin’ helps patients with diabetes monitor their blood sugar levels and get help in emergencies, using technology. The campaign’s second project, ‘Home supervision of patients with cardiovascular problems,’ offers rural Romanians suffering from cardiovascular problems the chance to receive medical care at home. Both projects are part of Vodafone Romania Foundation’s Mobile for Good campaign.

Fundraising will be done by text messages SMS, M-Pesa, or Justgiving platform. Find more information on how to donate money here.
