Unvaccinated children may be banned from schools in Romania

23 June 2015

Romania’s Health Ministry is currently working on a draft project which forbids unvaccinated children to attend nurseries, kindergartens or schools.

The specialists warned about a large decrease in the number of vaccinations, after parents’ campaigns against immunization. Children without a vaccination certificate will not be able to be enrolled in schools, reports local Digi24.

The Ministry also considers fining the parents who don’t vaccinate their children. The Health Ministry was notified about two new cases of tetanus in children.

The Ministry will implement the project only after a public debate.
