Two Romanian art galleries to take part in ARCOmadrid this February

Romanian Galleries Ivan Gallery from Bucharest, and Plan B from Cluj-Napoca will take part at ARCOmadrid, one of the most important art fairs in Europe, from  February 15 to 19.

This will be the first time Romanian museum have been represented at big international fairs. This year brings ARCOmadrid's 31st edition. Along with similar fairs in Basel and Maastricht, the Madrid fair is a top spot for the exhibition and sale of contemporary art.

The Romanian Cultural Institute in Madrid will support the Romanian galleries selected by the curator Manuel Segade in the Opening section, which is dedicated to young art galleries in Europe.

The 31st edition of ARCOmadrid will take place between  February 15 and 19 and brings together about 200 galleries and 3,000 artists.

The Ivan Gallery will present work by artists such as Dragos Badita, Dan Hammer, Michael Olos, CristianOpris, Sandor Bartha and Szabolcs Veres, while Plan B will present works by artists such as Adrian Ghenie, Ciprian Muresan, Navid Nuur (Dutch artist of Iranian origin) and Serban Savu.

The Ivan Gallery operated since 2006, in Bucharest, and has in its portfolio young Romanian artists such as Cristian Opris, Victor Racatau, Dan Maciuca and Dragos Badita as well as famous  artists like Geta Bratescu and Horia Bernea.

Initiated by Mihai Pop and Adrian Ghenie, Plan B gallery opened in September 2005 in Cluj-Napoca and works as a production space for contemporary art and also as an area of ​​research for Romanian art from the past 50 years.
