The top three mobile carriers in Romania, Orange, Vodafone, and Telekom, have started the pre-order campaign for the new Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones.

All three operators boast that they will deliver the pre-ordered devices starting March 8, three days before their official launch in Romania (March 11). The operators also offer a Samsung Gear VR virtual reality gadget for each pre-ordered smartphone.

As the offers are similar, the mobile carriers try to differentiate through pricing.

Both Orange and Vodafone sell the Samsung Galaxy S7 for EUR 699, without any subscription attached, while Telekom Romania has a full price of EUR 737. The full prices for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge are EUR 799 at Orange and Vodafone, and EUR 826 at Telekom.

The two smartphones are significantly cheaper when paired with 2-year subscriptions.

Vodafone Romania gives the Samsung Galaxy S7 for free if the client also takes a two-year Super RED 89 subscription, worth EUR 86 per month. This subscription includes 12 gigabytes (GB) of 4G mobile data traffic and 2,000 international minutes, as well as 1.5 GB of data traffic and 400 minutes in roaming. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge comes for EUR 59 with the same subscription.

The cheapest Samsung Galaxy S7 in the Telekom Romania network is some EUR 268, and comes with a Mobil XXL subscription worth EUR 38.66 per month. This subscription includes 4GB of mobile data traffic at 4G speed and 1,000 international minutes, plus 1 GB of data traffic and 1,000 minutes in roaming. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge sells for EUR 357 with the same subscription.

Orange Romania has set a minimum price of EUR 349 for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and EUR 439 for the Edge version, paired with an Orange Me 42 subscription. The subscription includes 5.5 GB of 4G data traffic and 600 international minutes.

The three operators’ subscription packages differ very much in terms of pricing and what they include. However, there is one subscription that is similar in terms of pricing for all of them. The Orange Me 25, the Vodafone Super RED 25, and Telekom’s Mobil XL subscription have the same cost of EUR 24.19 per month (EUR 24.15 for Telekom).

When paired with these subscriptions, the Samsung Galaxy S7 comes the cheapest at Telekom (roughly EUR 469), followed by Orange (EUR 479), and Vodafone (EUR 484). However, the Vodafone Super RED 25 subscription has the most data traffic included (4 GB), compared to 3.5 GB of data traffic for Orange Me 25, and 3 GB of internet traffic at Telekom.
