Three gold medals for Romania at the Balkan Geography Olympiad in Serbia

Romanian students won four medals, three of which gold, at the Balkan Geography Olympiad organized in Belgrade, Serbia, in late-June.

Anca-Maria Radulescu from Pitesti, Ionel-Alexandru Petrusca from Slatina, and Andrei Tudor Suciu from Bucharest won gold medals while Irina-Andrada Craciun from Constanta got silver. All four Romanian competitors are students in the 12th grade, according to a statement of the Romanian Ministry of Education.

The students who represented Romania were selected based on their results at the National Geography Olympiad organized in Cluj-Napoca in April 2015.

A total of 28 competitors from six countries registered for the Olympiad in Serbia. Each team consisted of four students and two leaders.
