Thermal wellness center near Bucharest gets EUR 6.6 mln state aid

18 January 2016

The recently inaugurated thermal wellness center Therme Bucuresti has received a state aid of EUR 6.6 million, namely 22% of the total initial investment of EUR 29.5 million, according to the Finance Ministry.

Company representatives said that the total investment actually amounted to EUR 50 million, reports local Profit.ro. The amount announced by the Finance Ministry was the one estimated in 2013, when the project was submitted.

Costs have, however, increased since then. Even so, the state aid accounts for 13% of the investment.

The project received the financing through the Government’s multi-annual state aid program for regional development.

Other nine companies obtained state aid of EUR 100 million, within the same financing scheme.
