Thermal wellness center near Bucharest expects 1 million visitors

14 January 2016

The recently inaugurated thermal wellness center Therme Bucuresti could receive between 800,000 and one million visitors in its first year of operation, said the administrator Stelian Iacob.

The project is located near Bucharest and covers over 250,000 sqm. The construction area is of 30,000 sqm, and it can simultaneously accommodate 4,000 visitors.

The project is mainly designed for Romanians, said Iacob, reports Profit.ro. For this reason, prices are 30%-40% lower compared to similar investments in Germany and Austria.

The complex includes over 800,000 plants, but also the largest wave pool in Romania, with a surface of 560 sqm. It also has water slides with a total length of 1,500 m.

The entry price starts from RON 39 (EUR 8.6), and varies depending on the number of hours spent and the number of areas accessed.

The center will open today some 20 kilometers north of Bucharest, in Balotesti.

Therme’s owners, Austrian group A-Heat, say this is the biggest complex of this kind in Europe. The group has invested EUR 50 million in the facilities.

German group Wund, which owns four such thermal centers in Europe, has developed the project.
